Melted Snowmen Cookies

Melted Snowmen Cookies

Wow, it is officially Christmas time already! To start the season off with some baking, I made these delicious peanut butter cookies decorated like melted snowmen. With some

White Christmas

playing in the background, and my Holiday candle from Bath and Body Works burning, the holiday season was in full blast in my home. These cookies are the perfect dessert for a holiday party or just for some fun baking with friends!

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 egg

3 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 bag of vanilla flavored candy melts

1 bag of mini chocolate covered peanut butter cups

1 bag of mini chocolate chips

orange sprinkles

1. Preheat the oven to 350

2. Beat shortening and peanut butter in a large bowl

3. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda to the bowl and mix

4. Lastly add flour, and cocoa powder to the bowl and mix

5. Roll the dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet

6. Bake for 7-8 minutes, lightly flatten the tops of the cookies, and bake for 2-3 more minutes

7. Take the cookies out to cool and microwave the candy melts as instructed on the bag

8. Spoon the melted candy onto the cookies to look like melted snow

9. Cut the peanut butter cups to resemble hats and place them on the cookie along with the mini chocolate chips for eyes and the sprinkle for a nose
